Parkinson’s is a complex progressive neurological condition, whereby sufferers don’t have enough of a chemical called dopamine due to the death of some nerve cells in the brain.
The lack of dopamine affects movement, motor symptoms often causing tremors, slow movement and rigidity. Other symptoms called non-motor symptoms are many, ranging from pain, fatigue, swelling, speech problems to anxiety, depression and memory problems.
As the condition progresses, the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease can get worse and it can become increasingly difficult to carryout everyday activities without assistance. Bright Dawn Home Care can help with house-keeping or light domestic duties, personal care such as washing and dressing, preparing meals and companionship.
Our Care Assistants are trained to offer care and support to Parkinson’s sufferers and to promote independence and well-being. We take a person centred approach to care, putting the individual and their needs at the heart of everything we do.
